Aubrey Atwater, a musician and longtime member of the Healing Arts team at Hasbro Children's Hospital, recently gave an inspiring talk on the therapeutic power of music. Drawing on over 40 years of experience performing in hospitals, churches, and bereavement groups and a profound knowledge of psychology, she shared heartfelt stories about how songs of solace, joy, and comfort can ease pain and bring peace in times of suffering.
Atwater discussed the delicate and magical role that music, humor, and beauty play in moments of transition and healing. She even invited attendees to join in singing and experimenting with instruments, showing that music's healing touch is accessible to everyone-especially those who don't consider themselves musicians.

Through her warmth, evidence-based insights, and stories, Atwater reminded students and faculty that music can be a profound tool for emotional connection and well-being in medical settings.
